MoCo Restaurant Relief Grant

In response to the pandemic, Governor Larry Hogan sent Maryland’s counties two rounds of state aid for the hard-hit restaurant industry. Montgomery County received $8 Million in the first phase and another $4.9 Million in a second round of restaurant relief.

Did you receive a phase one grant? Prior phase one grant recipients should check their emails for information on accessing a second grant of $5K. You do not need to re-apply.  NEW applicants may apply for a $10K grant beginning February 1. The MCEDC will award grants through a lottery system (versus a first-come, first served system) so as not to disadvantage applicants who may need time to pull their materials together and submit an application.

WHAT ARE EXAMPLES OF ELIGIBLE GRANT USES?   
Working capital, such as rent, payroll, and job training;
Purchase of equipment and services to expand outdoor dining, such as tents, heaters, warmers, and carts;
Infrastructure improvements, such as HVAC system upgrades;
Technology to support carryout and delivery;
Purchase of PPE and disposable food containers and utensils; and
Sanitation services.
