AquaLith Advanced Materials (Private)
AquaLith manufactures next-generation batteries and battery materials.
AquaLith has exclusively licensed a portfolio of lithium-ion battery patents from the University of Maryland.
Based on the work of Chunsheng Wang, the Robert Franklin and Frances Riggs Wright Distinguished Chair, Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, in collaboration with Kang Xu, ECS Fellow, ARL Fellow, Team Leader, Senior Chemist at U.S. Army Research Laboratory. The technology includes a new ultra-high energy cathode, a novel silicon anode, and a non-flammable aqueous electrolyte.
These batteries store significantly more energy and contain no transition metals, which offer lower production costs. The batteries have been demonstrated to work efficiently below -50C and the water-based electrolyte dramatically reduces the risk of a fire in the event of a short circuit.
Our Mission
We provide innovative, high performance energy storage solutions, which create 21st century manufacturing jobs in Maryland.
Our Vision
We hold ourselves accountable for great products, superior customer service at a fair price.
