Waverly Main Street
Waverly Main Street is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to the commercial revitalization of the Greenmount Avenue commercial corridor. Founded in 2000, WMS is an original member of Baltimore Main Streets and is an accredited main street organization with a focus on ensuring the continued success of the Historic Waverly community. WMS follows the traditional Main Street model which includes partnering with the National Trust for Historic Preservation – a model that is implemented nationally and one of the leading models that foster commercial corridor revitalization.
Through a 12 month strategic planning process, our stakeholders and focus groups established three central “vision priorities” which complement our central mission of economic revitalization. These priorities will guide our work through 2024.
Waverly merchants are involved and empowered.
Empowered merchants advocate for themselves on matters related to city services; involved merchants look out for the shopping district as a whole.
The Waverly commercial district is attractive, clean and safe.
We will engage people to help make Greenmount clean and safe, and strive to make this effort sustainable.
Waverly Main Street is a valued and visible resource to the commercial district.
We will transform WMS into an organization that people are familiar with and know how to approach.
