The Last Mile Education Fund invests in degree completion for low-income undergraduate women pursuing degrees in computing fields within four semesters of graduation. Applicants must meet the criteria outlined below and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until available funds have been exhausted.
You are completing the application for Bridge OR Last Mile funding. Bridge Funding is for short term major financial obstacles (i.e. car repair, medical expense, device) and is for expenses up to $3000. Last Mile Funding is intended for students in their last two semesters or needing a few credits to cover tuition and expenses to complete your degree and can cover expenses up to $10,000. If you have an emergency need to cover basic needs like food, internet, rent, etc., please apply to the Emergency Fund at www.lastmile-ed.org/apply
To be eligible, applicants must:
1) Identify as a woman or non-binary individual.
2) Demonstrate low-income status, ineligibility for US Federal student aid, or evidence of need.
3) Currently in pursuit of an undergraduate computing-related degree at an accredited 4-year institution of higher education in the U.S. Eligible degrees will be outlined in the application.
4) Within four (4) semesters of graduation (Juniors/Seniors), for the Bridge Grant and within two (2) semesters for the Last Mile Grant.
5) Currently located in the United States.
6) Experiencing a time-sensitive financial need that is a threat to your continued progress as a computing student.
